SigEp is an organization that strives to recruit and build balanced men. This balance is defined by an aspiration from each of our members to be a leader, scholar, athlete and a gentleman. Each member participates in a member development program that focuses on building a sound mind and body. Additionally, each member has the opportunity to attend our award winning leadership continuum. Here are some current brothers who are examples of our commitment to this principle.

Leader

TJ Villamil, Senior

Major: Communications
GPA: 3.0

TJ is a veteran leader on the University of Florida campus. After serving as Budget and Appropriation Committee Chair in 2010, his UF peers elected him Student Body Treasurer in 2011 and he is now managing the student body’s $4.8 million budget. His leadership ability was first cultivated within the halls of SigEp. As VP of recruitment in 2010, TJ recruited a record number of new members, 70 between Fall and Spring.

Scholar

Eric Evans, Junior

Major: Finance
Graduate Level: Master of Science in Finance (MSF)
GPA: 3.6

Eric was an elite student long before he came to UF, as he started his college academic career with 60 college credits. Eric is one of three current SigEp brothers who graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Finance in three years and are pursuing a Master of Science in Finance (MSF), an honors program at the Warrington College of Business, in their fourth year. Eric hopes to work in the Sales & Trading or Investment Banking departments of a premier bank on Wall Street after graduation.

Athlete

Brian Biada, Senior

Major: Sustainable Development
Graduate Level: Master of Science in Management (MSM)
GPA: 3.9

Brian has epitomized SigEp’s “Sound Mind, Sound Body” principles during his time at UF. As a scholar-athlete and a member of the varsity football team, he has maintained a near perfect academic resume while dedicating 20-30 hours a week to football. In his senior year Brian has been able to enroll in graduate-level courses while completing his undergraduate degree. Brian is quick to credit SigEp for instilling the crucial time-management skills, work-ethic and diligence needed to accomplish all that he has.

Gentleman

Jonathan Tarich, Junior

Major: Biology (Pre-Med)
GPA: 3.7

Jonathan is a highly involved member of his community. He has been a consistent volunteer at the Florida Diabetes Camp over the past two years. Jonathan has also had an active role in SigEp’s premier philanthropy, SigEp Surf Frenzy, which raises over $30,000/year for the Florida Diabetes Camp. As a member of Florida Blue Key, Jonathan is directing the Health Professions Day event, where UF’s undergraduate pre-health students learn how to gain an edge in the application process for health professional schools. In an effort to include more of the Gainesville youth community, Jonathan added a new element to the Health Professions Day this year, Doctor for a Day, where local kids are able to shadow a doctor. By inviting elementary aged students to participate in this program, he hopes to motivate them to focus more on science and math in their education.
