As a new chapter in Florida Football quickly approaches, Florida Alpha continues to write a new chapter of its own. In the continuing effort of the Alumni Volunteer Corporation (AVC) to strengthen our alumni network and build a stronger relationship with current undergraduates, we have planned an action-packed weekend for Homecoming 2011. We cordially invite our alumni brotherhood back to Gainesville to re-connect with old friends and hear about all of the exciting things going on at Florida Alpha.

Florida Alpha continues to have a strong presence on campus, a product of driven students and engaged alumni. For the second time in three years, one of our very own brothers, Aaron Heger, is the producer of Gator Growl 2011.

With the help of Brother Heger, the AVC has arranged an exciting weekend for our brothers that includes a Pre-Growl Gathering at the Chapter House, Gator Growl 2011, the post Gator Growl VIP Party with the talent from the show, the SigEp House BBQ, Florida Alpha block seating at the homecoming football game and the option of a golf tournament on Sunday morning. Additionally, the alumni board has secured a block of 30 hotel rooms for the weekend (a hot commodity on homecoming weekend). Please contact me via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to reserve your tickets and book a hotel room in the block. We anticipate the spots will fill up quickly and once they are gone we cannot add more. If you already have tickets for the homecoming football game and would like to participate in the other events, you are most welcome to join us; please email me as indicated above.

We hope to see you for one of the biggest weekends of the year at the University of Florida and for our Florida Alpha Chapter.

Fraternally,

Alex Rangel ’06
Director of Events and Programming
